We didn’t do anything major on Saturday, just a lot of waiting around in the early part of the day, due to my occasionally inconsiderate landlord.
LuÃs and his mother had started cleaning the neighbour’s place yesterday, and they continued today, although they were rather late coming; we weren’t sure when we needed to move out. I was going to drag my feet and leave changing over to the other side of the house until tomorrow morning because I was ticked off with Luis, but Carol calmed me down, and we start packing, getting stuff ready, clearing out the refrigerator and getting everything ready to move. In other words, we were being accommodating!!
Carol and Charlie walked into town to see if they could find the market, and I went through emails catching up, had a shower, and got myself ready and organized. Carol and Charlie came back and we drove to Sao Teotonio to fill the car fuel tank. Back home once again, Carol made some sandwiches for breakfast (or was it lunch?) and we waited for LuÃs to say it was OK to move into the other side of the house. As you can imagine, I wasn’t happy about that, however, I’ve only got nine days left until I’m home and we have now found several places in the town that rent in the future; so possibly next year I’ll make a change unless LuÃs makes some serious amends. I do really love this area!
We moved everything in to the other side of the house, and then decided to go back up to Porto Covo. On the way, Carol spotted what she thought was a flea market. It was massive with everything you could imagine on sale. There was clothing, boots , shoes, children’s toys, cheeses, bakery, sausage, birds, chickens, tractors, household goods, all at reasonable prices.
At Porto Covo Beach, the tide was coming in fully so Carol didn’t get a chance to sit in the small cove like beach where she wanted to paint. The waves coming in were so dramatic . We had our cameras to capture all the drama.
Later after sitting for a while at a musical celebration in town, we then returned home. I don’t know what the celebration was about but it was interesting to see all the people.
Porto Covo is an absolutely lovely town.
Home again, I made a chicken curry dinner with lots of veggies. It was yummy. Wine and two more episodes of Bad Sisters ended another day.
