Letters to the Earth: Between Despair and Hope

This project originated as a personal response to the early pandemic’s impact on my home environment. Before 2020, I had not actively considered environmental issues. The environmental crisis—long highlighted by scientific research—can no longer be overlooked. Responsibility for meaningful change rests with everyone; immediate action is essential to slow climate change.

This project unites a diverse group of creative participants across languages, identities, disciplines, and media. The arts provide a vital platform for addressing the climate crisis, with each exhibition featuring new work to foster ongoing dialogue.

Participants must have submitted a handwritten letter to the earth. This is a requirement to qualify for submission of artwork for the Call for Entry to our exhibitions. All handwritten letters are on display at each exhibition and viewers are also asked to write their own letters to the earth.

Please look through (or download) our last four catalogues to see the variety of work included in our exhibitions.
