Carmel Brennan, B.A., B.Ed.,M.A.
Born in Birmingham, UK, of Irish parents, Carmel Brennan has been a professional artist since the late 1970’s. She recently earned a Master’s Degree in Contemporary Art and Archaeology in Scotland.
A teacher of Visual Arts, she is a Past President of the Ontario Society of Artists and has curated major exhibitions for the Uxbridge Artist Collective from 2009 to 2018, called Work from Heart Mind & Hand, and received an Ontario Arts Council grant for a catalogue for this project. In 2020 she curated an exhibition called, BEYOND THE WALLS at the Aurora Cultural Centre, however it was totally virtual due to the global pandemic, as was the 2021 Aurora group exhibition, The Conversation. She was also the Curator of an Exhibition of OSA artwork currently at the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario at Queens Park, Toronto. Her other exhibitions with her project, Letters to the Earth: Between Despair and Hope are taking place now in 2023 and projected until 2026 .

Carmel Brennan’s studio in Sunderland, Ontario, is open to visitors annually, on the third weekend of September, as part of the Uxbridge Studio Tour .(except for 2023)
