My photography, painting and writing are an exploration and a journey. Excited about the directions I take I love the stops along the way. To explore through my lens the feel of textures, to sense and capture the quality of light, to enlarge the view so that the small details are one on one with me-that is amazing. Sometimes I surprise myself with the view of ordinary images that smack me in the face and make me conscious of the beauty of the ordinary.
My approach is traditional straight photography whether it be with film or digital. There is no manipulation, cropping or changes in my work. Images may be repeated within the same framework. Certain perspectives haunt me and then I come upon the familiar shot and capture it through my viewfinder…
Analog to digital my approach is the same. I shoot a lot of images, develop and store the results. Like a good wine they and me need time to ferment and later I surprise myself again.
